The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to Use Social Media, Blogs, News Releases, Online Video, and
by David Meerman Scott

"Not enough meat. Maybe a good intro to today's marketing, but covers all major topics without enough detail (for me anyway). If you're fairly new to marketing, this provides a very good overview. If you're an experienced Internet marketing, you'll be asking "Where's the beef?"

The Practical Guide to Email Marketing: Strategies and Tactics for Inbox Success
by Jordan Ayan

Rating:
Recommended ?    Great Reference!
"Excellent reference book for your email marketing program. This book is written in outline form and provides a number of comprehensive checklists that will allow you to make sure you've covered all bases with your email marketing program. It's only about 50 pages and therefore doesn't into deep detail about any individual topic, but the book is very thorough. Run your email programs through the author's series of checklists and you are bound to find ways to make your email marketing campaign more profitable."

The Rough Guide to iPods & iTunes (Rough Guide Reference Series)

Recommended ?    YES - It's Complete
"This was an incredibly complete book about iPods and iTunes. It's organized in bite-size chapters that are easy to understand. I originally purchased this book because I am considering creating podcasts that could be subscribed to on iTunes. That topic was well-covered. I do not currently own an iPod so this review is entirely focused on the iTunes part of the book. That did not disappoint. In fact, I learned so many new things about iTunes on my computer that I can't name them all here. For example, I was not aware that iTunes has an excellent built-in sound equalizer and many sound presets to make my music library sound a lot more like a real DJ put it together. I now finally have my song library organized so that I know exactly where everything is. These is just a few of the simple but important tips that many experienced iTunes users might not be aware of. This little book thoroughly covers just about every iTunes topic I'd ever heard of, and many that I had not. If you are an iTunes user and wish to master it, this is only book you'll need. It's got everything."

The Social Media Bible: Tactics, Tonols, ad Strategies for Business Success
by Lon Safko, David K. Brake
Category: Social Media
Rating:
Recommended ?    Complete SMM Book
"This is definitely the most complete reference book in social media marketing. Every social media tool currently in use is described in detail in this thick (about 2 1/2 inches) manual. When I read this book, I discovered many social media tools I was not aware of. Each tool is run through a thorough discussion which answers questions such as: What is it? How can it be used? What other applications does it work with? Who uses it? Should you use it? Defintely a great reference book on Social Media. The authors Lon Safko and David Brake elaborate on overall social media strategy in the third and last major section of their book. Another book, Social Media Marketing: An Hour a Day by Dave Evanes and Susan Bratton, provides a stronger discussion of how social media fits into marketing, but this book provides lots of unique viewpoints and tips that I haven't seen anywhere else. This book should be part of any Internet marketer's reading collection."
