An Easy Guide to Factor Analysis
by Paul Kline
Category: Quantitative
Rating:
Recommended ?    Great Explanation
"An Easy Guide" is exactly what it is. Authors like Paul Kline who can simplify complicated topics like Factor Analysis are a Godsend to rest of us cavemen. The title is really true. You don't need to be a PhD'ed statistician to read this book and have a solid understanding of Factor Analysis, even the math. This is probably a real good book for marketers who want to have a deep understanding of Factor Analysis, but hate statistics. Professor Paul Kline explained Factor Analysis well enough that I am going to try to implement it in Excel (I'll probably drive myself crazy doing that)."

Beginning PHP 5 and MySQL E-Commerce: From Novice to Professional
by Cristian Darie, Mihai Bucica
Category: Web Site Design
Rating:
Recommended ?    Run From This Book
"These authors scare me a little. If this is a manual for beginners, I'd sure HATE to see the advanced manual. Unless you're pretty strong in PHP, you'll be lost. This was my first book I bought when I began to learn to learn PHP. I almost gave up learning PHP as a result of this "beginners" book. The book dumps several pages of PHP code at time on the reader with no breaks for explanation. The book also focuses on difficult tasks that are readily available elsewhere, such as building a checkout counter. If you are interested in learning PHP, check out any book written by Larry Ulman. He KNOWS how to explain PHP."

Drupal For Dummies
by Lynn Beighley
Category: Web Site Design
Rating:
Recommended ?    Surprisingly EZ !
"I had heard that Drupal has a steep learning curve but this book made it easy as pie to get up and running with Drupal. I was a raw newbie to Drupal when I opened up this book. By the time I had finished it, I had created a fully functioning and elegant storefront, a blog, a forum, and an image gallery. I had added RSS feeds, social media feeds, contact forms, and many other very cool items to my various Drupal installations that I set up while I was reading this book. Drupal is open source so all of this stuff is free. Before I had even finished this amazing clear book, I was using a Drupal module called Spread that enabled readers of one of my promotional eBooks to forward links to a download of the eBook to their friends through email with just two clicks. Here is the URL to that module on my site so you can see it in action: http://excelmasterseries.com/Free_Excel_Graphing_eManual/node/3 Maybe the eBook will go viral because of that great little Drupal module! What makes this Drupal book stand out is its crystal clarity and the many useful projects that author Lynn Beighley walks the reader through. If you want to start from scratch and get up and running with Drupal as fast as possible, you're looking at the book that will get you there! This book is EZ!"
