Marketing Models

"This book is better suited for professors than business managers. The math in this book is just too deep. To grasp any of the material in this book, the reader would have to completely at home with heavy-duty matrix theory and integral calculus. This would be a great manual to research a doctoral thesis in marketing, but not so much for finding practical information that is readily useable. It is written by perhaps the world's most reknowned marketing professor, Philip Kotler. If you are professor or a big-time marketing quantitative specialist, you'll probably like this book. Most others wouldn't enjoy a book that has double integrals in every page."

MBA Fundamentals Statistics (Kaplan MBA Fundamentals)
by Paul Thurman
Category: Quantitative
Rating:
Recommended ?    Great Stat Book !
"Shoot, this book is almost as good as mine ! Professor Thurman wrote a statistic book that covers the important points and explains everything clearer than I have EVER seen a statistics book do. I've read quite a few stat books, but this one was THE BEST. I used it extensively as a reference to my series of statistical eManuals, The Excel Statistical Master. All I can say to the author is, "THANKS PAUL!"

Measuring Marketing: 103 Key Metrics Every Marketer Needs
by John Davis
Category: Quantitative
Rating:
Recommended ?    No Internet Metrics
"A very handy reference manual that probably should be on the bookshelf of every marketing manager and company owner. Author John Davis has picked the 103 marketing metrics that are most likely to be used to make informed marketing decisions. What really makes this book stand out is the thorough discussion that the author provides on each metric. John Davis brings up important points about each metric that even the most seasoned marketer may have forgotten. Every metric is clarified with numeric examples. The book is an easy read and gets right to point about how to use each metric to make marketing management decisions. This manual provides a well-rounded set of metrics, but, in my opinion, comes up a little short on metrics related to Internet marketing. The book is divided into 3 overall sections with Internet marketing hardly being touched upon. A whole section on Internet marketing metrics would be an excellent addtion to this well-written book. Only a couple of very basic Internet marketing metrics are mentioned at all in the entire book. Given the overwhelming shift from the old-style interruptive, company-controlled, push marketing to the new Internet-based, consumer-controlled, social media world, any author hoping to write the definitive reference of key marketing metrics needs to go deep into Internet marketing metrics. This book provides the most complete reference and discussion of metrics for classic marketing. If you're looking for a thorough manual of metrics for today's Internet marketer......Well, that book hasn't been written yet."

Multidimensional Scaling (Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences)

"There's gotta be an easier way to learn Multidimensional Scaling than this booklet (92 pages). I still have a headache from trying to understand the math as the author presented it. Sorry, can't recommend it, unless you have trouble falling asleep."

"Very clear instruction manual to learn Photoshop Elements 5. I reference this book nearly every time I use Photoshop Elements. If you go through and do all of the exercises in this book, you will be completely at home with this software. This manual is arranged very intuitively. It is very easy to locate the task that you are trying to figure out. Hey, who wants to spend $700 on Photoshop when you can buy Photoshop Elements (8 is the current version) for less than $100 and get 90% of the functionality of Photoshop? "
